I’m really excited to be a part of Education Services, as education has been the focus of my career and a passion in my life.
I graduated from Ohio University with an Integrated Language Arts Education degree and began teaching high school English at Lawrence School, which is a private school for students with learning differences and attention deficits. This experience really helped me explore different learning styles and teaching methods. While teaching, I received my M.A. in English from Kent State, and began teaching high school English at Elyria High, until I took an extended maternity leave in 2015 with the birth of my daughter, Hailey, who is an adorable little ball of energy and love. My husband, John, is also a teacher, and all-around good guy.
I came to Hyland in 2016 and joined the eLearning team as an Instructional Designer. While it was a career change, it feels very natural. I love thinking about how we can best support our learners, and creating training to reflect that. Assisting other members of ES with brainstorming ideas, creative sprints, class activities, course development, and whatever else, makes me so happy. Need a second set of eyes? BRING IT! ES is an incredible group of creative, over-achievers, and the energy is palpable.
I love to read, talk literature, do yoga, go to the Metroparks with my family, listen to music, and drink tons of coffee.
