"When I first started, I was intimidated by the idea of working for a software company because I didn’t have a technical background. It took me a while to feel comfortable with the software. You, like me, will make a lot of mistakes on the way, but you’ll reach a point where you realize that you can do just about anything and that no new task is too scary. In the meantime, don’t be afraid to ask for help and don’t be afraid to make mistakes, because as James Joyce once said, “A man’s mistakes are his portals of discovery.”
I graduated from Kent State in 2001 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Before coming to Hyland, I taught high school social studies for four years – I definitely got my fill of that – and then stayed home with my two wonderful boys for a few years.
Once my little guys were old enough to fight, I decided to go back to work and thought that I might like the place where my husband, Daniel, had recently started a new job – Hyland Software.
Since first joining the Internal Training team in 2007, my team has changed, my position has changed, and even my location has changed multiple times, however the one thing that has remained constant is my love for creating content that helps our customers, partners, and fellow Hylanders do amazing things with OnBase.
