"Being positive and having fun when negative situations arise is a reaction often overlooked and underrated in the workplace, and for some, in life (Although, this is not the case at Hyland from what I have seen)."

Robert Gratz

Trainer - CSS 3

Prior to entering the world of enterprise content management, I was a school teacher for ten years. That experience allowed me to live in exotic places such as Egypt, Venezuela, and Liberal, Kansas. Liberal is not so exotic; however, if you are a fan of “The Wizard of OZ” you may enjoy it. In 2006, I changed careers and became a consultant at Perceptive Software. Over time my role there took me back to my passion, teaching, where I was an internal trainer for the Professional Services.

I am a native Kansan and was raised in the outskirts of a town called Milford. The largest lake in Kansas, over 100 miles of shoreline, was less than a mile from my house, so my childhood revolved around actives at “the lake”. Fishing, swimming, water skiing, etc... I attended Kansas State University where I earned an Education Degree, and later in life, went to Friends University of Central Kansas where I earned a Computer Technology degree.

Currently my beautiful wife of 20 years, Ronda, and two sons, Zaid and Elian, reside in Shawnee, KS. It is about an 8 min drive to the Hyland office in Lenexa, KS. We share our house with two rowdy rat terriers, Buddy (a.k.a. boo ditti) and Harley. Our favorite activities are any activities our boys have chosen to engage in. Needless to say we are big fans of ice and roller hockey, soccer, drumline, piano recitals…
